Wills, Power of Attorney & Guardianship

Here at Coman & Associates we understand preparing your Will can be overwhelming and complicated, which is why we make sure the process is as smooth as possible and have you and your loved one’s best interests in mind.

What is a Will?

A Will is a legal document that outlines the distribution of your assets upon your death and establishes your burial wishes. You are also able to determine who gains guardianship of any children under the age of 18 or any person under your care.

What is a Power of Attorney?

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that appoints a person/s otherwise known as an Attorney/s to deal with your money, assets, and property on your behalf. There are two types of Powers of Attorney, the first one is the Ordinary Power of Attorney which is for a limited period of time and is not capable of continuing if you lose mental capacity. The other type is an Enduring Power of Attorney which continues to be enforced even when you lose mental capacity.

What is a Guardianship?

A Guardianship is a legal document appointing a person/s as your guardian. A guardian is someone who looks after your lifestyle decisions when you are no longer capable. This can range from decisions such as where you live, what doctors you see, medical procedures you have and any personal services you may need.
